This German WWII Army Officers Dagger by Rich. Abr. Herder, based in Solingen, Germany—known as the “City of Blades”. A.W.Jr was a renowned blade manufacturer founded in 1884. Officially Richard Abr. Herder Stahlwarenfabrik. He initially produced high-quality knives, razors, and steel goods for civilian markets. During the Nazi era, the company, marked with the RZM code M7/18, supplied military items, including SA, SS, Luftwaffe, and Heer daggers. Starting in 1935, Herder crafted standardized Army officers’ daggers as part of Germany’s rearmament under Hitler, continuing production until 1945. Post-WWII, the company shifted focus to tools and knives, moving away from militaria. Today, these WWII-era daggers are highly valued by collectors for their history and craftsmanship.
