Description
Authentic Ancient Bactrian bronze rings, dating to the 2nd century B.C., representing the enduring craftsmanship of one of Central Asia’s most intriguing ancient cultures. This set of three bronze rings, each measuring between 20–22 mm in diameter, exhibits the smooth symmetry and natural patina that define authentic Bactrian metalwork.
These rings, cast in solid bronze, were likely worn by individuals of status within the Bactrian Kingdom — a crossroads of Persian, Greek, and early Central Asian civilizations. Their surfaces show a rich green and brown oxidation, known as choice patina, a hallmark of genuine ancient bronze that develops over millennia.
Each ring is distinct in shape and tone, yet unified in design — subtle evidence of handcrafting rather than mass production. Despite their age, all three rings remain structurally sound and wearable, making this grouping an exceptional blend of archaeological authenticity and aesthetic appeal.
Provenance: From a private East Coast collection, acquired on the U.S. antiquities market.
For collectors of ancient Bactrian artifacts, bronze antiquities, and Central Asian jewelry, this set offers both historical depth and timeless visual character — a tangible link to the craftsmanship of the ancient world.
