Description
Exquisite Ancient Egyptian faience necklace from the Late Period, circa 300–50 B.C., measuring approximately 19 ¾ inches in length. This elegant single-strand necklace is composed of brilliant blue-green faience beads, a material valued in ancient Egypt for its association with divine light, fertility, and eternal life.
A larger central stone bead provides contrast and visual harmony, demonstrating the balance and refinement of ancient Egyptian jewelry design. The glazed surface retains much of its original luster, testifying to the enduring craftsmanship that defined the Late Period’s artistic expression.
Each bead embodies symbolic meaning—its turquoise hues believed to offer protection and vitality to the wearer. The necklace remains fully intact and lightly wearable, presenting both historical integrity and aesthetic appeal.
Provenance: Ex Secret Eyes Gallery, New York (1970s–1980s); from an established East Coast collection.
