Description
Ancient Egyptian Eye of Horus faience amulet — a remarkable artifact symbolizing divine protection and health. This green and black glazed faience Eye of Horus dates to approximately c. 1300 B.C., during the reign of King Ramses II of Egypt’s 19th Dynasty. The amulet, known as the “Uzat,” was believed to safeguard the wearer from the Evil Eye, venomous creatures, and words spoken in anger or malice.
Handcrafted from finely glazed faience, the piece features a vibrant turquoise-green hue with black detailing and an intact suspension hole, typical of authentic Egyptian craftsmanship. Measuring 17 × 14 mm, this miniature artifact encapsulates both the artistry and spirituality of the ancient world.
Originating from a private East Coast collection, formerly held in an old New York collection, it is accompanied by the original reference card seen in photos. This museum-quality amulet is a fine representation of Egypt’s enduring cultural symbolism and a desirable addition for collectors of ancient Egyptian antiquities and historical artifacts.
